Berliner Kartoffelsalat (Potato Salad Berlin Style) |
Ingredients:
2.2 lb potatoes
1 large onion
0.4 cup of vinegar
Salt and pepper
1/8 teaspoons of sugar
2 tea spoons of parsley
2 gherkins
Caraway
2 table spoons of oil
Presentation:
Boil potatoes in their jackets with the salt and the caraway until they are tender. Peel them and slice into pieces while still warm. Place potatoes in a large salad bowl and mix it with the following marinade:
Boil squared onions and gherkins, salt, pepper, vinegar and oil with a little water until the onions are tender flavour generously and pour over the potatoes. Mix it and then let it cool out for 2 hours. If needed flavour it again sprinkle the salad with parsley and serve it.
